Best Approval Rate preset

Maximize applicant approvals with core AML checks.

Best Approval Rate preset is designed to achieve the highest possible approval rate while meeting core AML screening requirements.

It provides businesses with a reliable configuration that supports compliance with international regulations while keeping the onboarding flow efficient. It offers a targeted approach to screening by including the most relevant sanctions and PEP checks. Matching rules are configured to ensure accuracy and reduce the likelihood of false positives, resulting in smoother onboarding and faster decision-making.

Categories and sources

Best Approval Rate preset includes categories and data sources that support regulatory compliance. The configuration focuses on global sanctions and essential PEP screening, leaving out adverse media checks for higher efficiency.

This preset allows you to screen class 1 and class 2 PEPs, covering both active and recently retired officials (those who left office within the past year). Legacy PEP entities are removed to keep the results relevant and up to date.

It relies on internationally recognized sanctions regimes and watchlists, including:

  • World Bank Debarred Firm List
  • United Nations Security Council List of Designated Vessels
  • United Nations Consolidated
  • UK HM Treasury Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation
  • OFAC SDN List and Consolidated List
  • Interpol Wanted
  • European Union Council Restrictive Measures
  • EU Most Wanted Warnings
  • International IOSCO Warnings
  • International Criminal Court cases (ongoing and closed)
  • Canada Regulations Implementing UN Resolutions on Terrorism

Note

Adverse media screening is not included in this preset, as it may reduce approval rates without significantly improving compliance outcomes.

Matching algorithm

Matching in this preset is deliberately strict to reduce unnecessary alerts. It enforces exact name matching, and applies no fuzziness. To further minimize false positives, additional filtering rules are included. These remove weak aliases, deceased entities, and incomplete matches.

Applied options

This preset enables a focused set of rules that tighten match quality while keeping screenings fast and predictable. The options below primarily filter outdated or low-confidence records and require clearer alignment between the input name and profile data. Each option is applied across relevant data sources listed above.

OptionDescription
warning_fitness_entity_type_filterApplies entity-type filtering to Warnings and Fitness/Probity sources. Results with a mismatching entity type are excluded to keep returns relevant to the searched subject.
remove_delisted_entities_sanction_onlyExcludes profiles that are marked as delisted in the searched sanctions sources. Note that sanctioned entities are never marked as deceased, only delisted.
remove_deceasedRemoves profiles recorded as deceased across applicable sources (sanctions use delisted dates instead).
remove_weak_aliasIgnores AKAs/aliases that the data source flags as weak.
no_given_equivalent_names_on_last_wordDoes not allow equivalent-given-name substitutions on the last word of the query. Family-name equivalents can still match when appropriate, but the last word must align directly (for instance, David Clinton ≠ David Clint).
no_word_to_initial_on_last_wordBlocks matches where the last word of the query is matched only by an initial in the profile (for instance, Robert Mugabe ≠ M Robert).
remove_legacy_pep_entitiesFilters out legacy PEP profiles that are deprecated or lack sufficient detail for remediation.
remove_out_of_office_peps_1yrHides PEP mentions for individuals who have been out of office for more than 1 year, while retaining those within the past year for ongoing relevance.
