Make applicant profile inactive
Deactivate applicant profiles.
The Inactive status is a strategic tool that enhances the fairness of the verification process while maintaining the integrity of the fraud detection system. It provides flexibility, allowing you to manage applicants without disrupting essential security protocols. This status supports a balanced, efficient approach to applicant management that prioritizes both fairness and system integrity.
When an applicant profile is marked inactive, it will be marked along with its data, such as the uploaded documents, photos, and videos as inactive. The system automatically disregards inactive profiles, and your applicants will have to resubmit their personal details from scratch.
Sumsub may mark an applicant profile as inactive in the following cases:
- When a client confirmed testing.
- When an applicant needs to be unblocked to make a new verification attempt in a system.
You can also mark a profile as inactive if you want the applicant to recreate it without producing duplicates.
Get started
To make a profile inactive:
- In the Dashboard, go to the Applicants page and open an applicant profile.
- In the top menu, select Mark as inactive.
Note
Marking an applicant as inactive does not constitute a final onboarding or rejection decision. To reactivate the applicant, click the Mark as active button on the applicant page. This action allows you to proceed with approving, rejecting, or requesting additional documentation as needed.
For further alignment with your internal procedures, a webhook can be enabled to track and notify of any changes to an applicant inactive status.
