Counterparty VASP notes
Communicate with other VASPs about specific Travel Rule transactions.
During the Travel Rule message conduction, counterparties might want to exchange comments and notes that highlight significant data transfer details. With the VASP chat, a compliance officer from one company can have such transaction-related conversations or send notes to the counterparty VASPs.
By exchanging notes, both parties can:
- Maintain an explicit record of the transaction details.
- Foster clearer communication.
- Minimize risks associated with virtual asset transactions.
- Gain additional details about the transaction from each other.
How counterparty VASP notes work
VASP notes are only available to the counterparties that utilize the Sumsub protocol and operate within the Sumsub Travel Rule ecosystem.
Attention
If Sumsub cannot find the counterparty VASP or the counterparty VASP is only reachable via a partner protocol such as CODE or GTR, the note will not be delivered.
Upon sending the note, the counterparty VASP will get a notification in their Dashboard. To view the conversation, the counterparty VASP must have first confirmed that the wallet address specified in the Travel Rule message belongs to their applicant.
To send a note to the counterparty VASP:
- In the Dashboard, go to the Transactions and Travel Rule section and open Transactions.
- Select the transaction of interest and in the side menu, select Notes.
- Enter a note and select Send note to the counterparty.
- Click Add note.
- Compliance officers with notification settings enabled will receive this note.
