AML screening events
Audit AML screening check activity with an event log.
AML Screening events is a dedicated block that shows a filterable timeline and records everything that happens to an applicant’s AML screening check: when a screening is performed, reviewed, updated by ongoing monitoring, made inactive, approved, rejected, or deleted.
A unified events log shows the exact sequence of actions with timestamps, actors, device and IP information.
You can find this block on the Applicants page in the Dashboard. It is collapsed by default so the applicant page stays uncluttered. Here, you can open it to explore the full audit trail and filter by period or event type.
How AML screening events work
Every action performed by a client officer or by Sumsub creates a new event. Each event captures:
- When it happened (timestamp with timezone).
- Who or what performed it with device, browser, IP.
- What changed at screening check/match level (status, risk level, reasons).
- Which record it applies to (screening check ID and, when relevant, match ID).
System groups related changes so you can skim summaries and expand for detail only when needed. Bulk reviews summarize the number of affected matches, while the expanded view lists each match and its changes (status, risk, or notes).
You can filter events by:
- Event type — supports multi-select an inline search box.
- Screening check ID — scopes the log to a single screening check.
- Period — narrows the timeframe.
Event types
This section lists a collection of events that you may see in the events log.
Screening check matches reviewed
Appears when screening check matches are reviewed. The collapsed view summarizes how many matches were reviewed. The expanded view lists each match ID with the applied changes:
- Status changed to unknown, false positive, potential hit, or true positive.
- Risk level changed to high, medium, or low.
- Note added (when applicable).
Screening check created
Shows when a new AML screening check is created for the applicant. Contains the screening check ID and all matches found (for instance, 10 matches found).
Note
Creating a new screening check also triggers a separate Screening check made inactive event for the previous case.
Screening check status changed
Generated whenever the system updates the AML screening check status. The event displays the status (can be approved, rejected, or pending), along with the timestamp and actor. These events act as checkpoints for reporting and can be used for further reviews.
Screening check made inactive
Indicates that the screening check is no longer active, and also displays a reason for deactivation (for instance, a new AML screening check was performed for this applicant).
Screening check deleted
Captures who deleted the screening check and when.
Note
Prior events remain in the log for to ensure traceability of the event change history.
Ongoing update received
Shows that automated monitoring delivered an update affecting matches presented in the AML screening check.
- The collapsed view shows the number of affected matches.
- Expanded view lists each match ID and whether it was created, removed, or updated.
Ongoing monitoring status changed
Indicates that ongoing AML monitoring was enabled, disabled, or modified. The event shows the new state (for instance, inactive) and the reason.
