Test crypto transaction risk pre-scoring

Run test crypto transactions to check risk pre-scoring before moving to production.

Use mock wallet addresses to test risk pre-scoring for crypto and Travel Rule transactions in Sandbox.

When a crypto transaction or a Travel Rule transaction is created, Sumsub runs risk prescoring through the connected blockchain analytics provider.

Depending on the provider, Sumsub may run transaction screening, wallet address screening, or both.

Provider screening types

The available screening types depend on the connected provider.

Note

Crystal Intelligence supports transaction screening only.

Other providers support both transaction screening and wallet address screening.

Test risk prescoring

To test crypto transaction risk prescoring:

  1. Switch to Sandbox mode.
  2. Create a crypto transaction or a Travel Rule transaction as described here.
  3. In the Wallet address / Blockchain address field, enter one of the mock wallet addresses from the table below:
    • For Crystal Intelligence, Elliptic, TRM Labs, Chainalysis, and Merkle Science, use the shared mock addresses.
    • For Cyvers, use the dedicated ETH mock addresses.
  4. Save or submit the transaction.
  5. Check the mocked prescoring result. You can view the results in the Dashboard on the Transactions page.

Depending on the connected provider and supported screening types, the result may appear in blocks such as:

  • Transaction screening
  • Counterparty wallet screening

The displayed risk level depends on the mock wallet address you entered.

Mock wallet addresses and expected outcomes

In Sandbox, you can use mock wallet addresses to deterministically trigger a specific risk level.

Enter one of the following addresses in the Wallet address / Blockchain address field when creating a crypto or Travel Rule transaction.

If you enter an address that is not listed below, Sumsub returns the Medium risk level by default.

Crystal Intelligence, Elliptic, TRM Labs, Chainalysis, Merkle Science
