Resolution Rule Chain for AML Screening
The Resolution Rules Chain dictates how AML matches are resolved by Sumsub. It lets you tailor AML screening processes to your company's unique logic.
How Resolution Rule Chain Works
The Resolution Rules Chain connects several checks into a single flow, allowing you to do the following:
- Translate your internal risk model into actionable match resolutions.
- Automatically resolve matches based on predefined logic.
- Maintain a clear, understandable, and auditable reason for every match resolution.
- Reduce manual labor.
Get started with Resolution Rule Chain
As Resolution Chains involve several rules consecutively and impact all AML screenings initiated after the chain publication, they are started as drafts and then published and managed when needed.
Create new Resolution Rule Chains
To create a Resolution Rules Chain:
- Navigate to AML Screening - Resolution Rule Chain.
- Select the rules you want to add to the chain. To do so, click Select Rule from the Library or Create new rule and fill in the required fields.
- Click Save and then Continue.
AML rules contain the following fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Rule identifier. |
| Description | Additional context explaining the rule's purpose. |
| Condition | The criteria or trigger that must be met for the rule to apply. |
| Review | The action the system takes when the condition is met. |
Publish rule chains
To make the chain go live, you need to publish it. To do so, click Publish in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Once the chain is published, the rules will apply to all new AML screenings. They will run one by one. The check will end when one of them matches.
To stop the chain from running, click Unpublish and confirm your selection.
Edit rule chains
You can only edit chains in draft format.
NoteThe status of the chain (Draft or Published) is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen.
To edit a chain that is currently running:
- Click Go to draft at the bottom of the chain.
- Add, remove, or replace rules.
- Click Publish.
Once the draft is published, the old chain will be archived and replaced with the new one.
If you already have an earlier draft that is different from the current version of the chain, you need to replace it before making any changes:
- Select Make a copy from the three-dot menu in the upper right corner of the screen. Thus, you will replace your old draft with the existing chain version.
- Add, remove, or replace rules.
- Click Publish.
Manage Chain versions
All the changes you make to your chain are saved in its version history, so you can review them at any moment.
To check the history, select See version history from the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the screen and find the needed version.
To restore the selected version, click Copy to draft at the bottom of the version history tab. The version will become an active draft open for editing and further publishing.
