Customize ID verification settings
Tailor ID verification to your business needs.
To customize ID verification, in the Dashboard settings, open the ID verification page and continue as described below.
Set age restrictions
Specify the desired age range for your applicants.
Mind that onboarding minors may be prohibited by the laws or regulations applicable to your company. If you set the minimum age below 18, make sure to consult with your legal team before changing the age limit. When setting the age limits, you accept the responsibility for the legal implications of this choice.
Manage account duplicates
The following options let you configure the processing of duplicate accounts:
- Allow duplicates — allows creation and verification of applicants with similar names, birthdates, and emails.
- Consider all new similar applicants as duplicates — automatically rejects duplicates of applicant accounts and considers only the first account as a valid one. Example: The applicant gets temporarily rejected by ongoing ID monitoring and instead of uploading a new ID, the applicant creates a new account and passes verification from scratch. Because of that, the applicant may have two working accounts. In such cases, by having this setting enabled, only the first account will be considered valid.
- Allow different source keys duplicates — allows creation and verification of applicants with similar names, birthdates, phone numbers, and emails, if they come from different sources.
- Forbid duplicates from the key group — forbids creation and verification of applicants with similar names, birthdates, phone numbers, and emails coming from all source keys associated with a specific client.
- Respect blocklist hits only from the key group — forbids creation and verification of the applicants that belong to all blocklists associated with a specific client and their source keys.
- Don’t use email for duplicate search — allows creation and verification of the applicants with similar emails.
- Don’t use phone number for duplicate searches — allows creation and verification of the applicants with similar phone numbers.
Configure ID document expiry settings
You can select whether to respect the validity period or to accept expired documents under certain conditions:
- Respect the actual validity period — rejects expired documents.
- Accept expired documents extended by the government — accepts expired documents if their validity period was extended by a government regulation or decree, for example, documents extended because of COVID.
- Accept expired documents permissible by local regulations — accepts expired documents if their usage is allowed by local regulations. For example, in Brazil, it is allowed to accept expired driving licenses as proof of identity.
Set ID documents validity
You can select to accept all valid documents or set the minimum period:
- Accept ID documents while they are valid — accepts all valid documents regardless of their remaining validity period.
- Accept ID documents that are valid for at least X months — sets the minimum period (in months), the documents must remain valid to be accepted.
Select name comparison mode
Configure comparison mode to be used when comparing applicant names:
- In the Dashboard, open the Data comparison page.
- Set up address and name comparison mode. If you select Fuzzy, set up the fuzzy threshold.
- Choose whether you want to ignore middle name mismatches or not.
- Save your changes.
