Local Data Processing

Comply with regulatory requirements by storing your applicants' personal data accordingly.

The Local Data Processing (LDP) infrastructure enables the storage and processing of your applicants' personal data and transactions within specific regions to comply with regulatory requirements, such as the GDPR, reduce latency, and lower network costs.

Benefits of Local Data Processing

Sumsub lets you determine the physical location where data is stored and processed, providing you with a future-ready infrastructure and the following benefits:

  • Compliance with local and regional data handling and processing regulations.
  • Automated selection of the appropriate regional environment.
  • Centralized data storage for billing and analytics purposes.
  • Reduced complexity related to cross-border data transfers by minimizing reliance on mechanisms such as
  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs).
  • Support for API, Web, and Mobile SDK.

How Local Data Processing works

With Local Data Processing enabled, your data will be stored and processed in the following way:

  • Inspection results, transactions, and other verification-related data will be stored in the central region for the v1 processing level or locally in a particular region for the v2 processing level. Applicant data, images, videos, and other binary files will be stored locally in a particular region.
  • License keys, user accounts, company information, logos, and document examples will be accessible from all regions and stored in the central region.
  • Billing information will be prepared and stored in the central region, while invoices will be accessible from all regions.

📘

Note

Using the regional environment will not require any additional actions on your part, such as manually navigating between different domains.

Available services

Currently, the Local Data Processing solution supports all regions available through Amazon Web Services for the v1 processing level.

We are also working to expand support to include non-AWS data centers such as Huawei Cloud and AliCloud.
For the v2 processing level, we currently support the following regions:

  • UAE
  • Singapore
