# Add case note

# Overview

Use this method to add a note and optional [applicant tags](https://cockpit.sumsub.com/checkus/sdkIntegrations/globalSettings/general/tags?_gl=1*9ox2y9*_gcl_au*MjA5NzM1NTY3NS4xNzcwMDE3ODUx*_ga*MTk3NTY4OTk0Mi4xNzYyMjQwNDEz*_ga_ZF910PGWRL*czE3NzAxMDYzOTUkbzE0NyRnMSR0MTc3MDEwODY5MiRqNTkkbDAkaDA.) to the case for [Case Management](https://docs.sumsub.com/sumsub/docs/case-management).

  ### Info

  - This endpoint is available **only in the paid version** of [Case Management 2.0](https://docs.sumsub.com/sumsub/docs/migrating-to-case-management-20) and does not add notes to cases in earlier versions.
  - Do not use notes as a channel for instant messages.
</Callout>

  ### Tip

  - You can add notes to cases [in the Dashboard](https://cockpit.sumsub.com/checkus/caseMgmt/allCases?caseListStatus=all). Open the case you need, and click **Add note** in the top-right of the **Notes** section. When you add a note from a case, you can also copy it to the case applicant. The copy appears in the applicant **Notes** and is prefixed with the originating case ID — for example, `[ Case: 6a474c2dfb61cab0dd3a989b ]` — so its source stays clear.
</Callout>
